In specific cases and for certain product groups, goods are certified with the Kazakh GOST-K standard. This occurs when there is no corresponding technical regulation of the Eurasian Economic Union for the product group.
GOST Certificate for Kazakhstan
In GOST certification, conformity assessment is conducted based on product samples and technical documentation. The operational documents are provided by the manufacturer.
The samples are tested for compliance with GOST-K standards. If the tests are successfully conducted, a GOST certificate is issued.
For a GOST certification lasting 1 year or longer, an audit of the production facility is required. The manufacturer's production facility will be inspected for GOST compliance with the relevant safety regulations.
If the production audit is successfully conducted, a GOST certificate is issued. Upon expiration of the validity period of certificates, the approvals must be renewed if the business activity continues.
GOST Declaration for Kazakhstan
A GOST-K declaration is a declaration of conformity for export to Kazakhstan. A GOST declaration confirms that the goods comply with Kazakh safety standards.
To obtain a GOST-K declaration, the manufacturer must conduct a conformity assessment to ensure that the products meet Kazakh safety standards. Subsequently, the applicant must issue a GOST declaration and register it in the EAEU register.
GOST Certificate and GOST Declaration
The difference between GOST declaration and GOST certification for Kazakhstan and EAEU countries lies in the application and execution of GOST approval documents.
Furthermore, a GOST-K declaration is legally defined differently than a GOST-K certificate. A GOST-K declaration is often compared to the CE declaration of conformity. The GOST-K certification of goods for Kazakhstan is legally required and is continuously monitored by supervisory authorities.
Technical Regulations in Kazakhstan
In addition to the Technical Regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union, there are also Kazakh GOST-K standards or Technical Regulations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Technical Regulations (TR/GOST-K) of the Republic of Kazakhstan set safety requirements for the following products:

- Medicines and pharmaceuticals
- Paints, varnishes, and solvents
- Biological products for veterinary medicine
- Emissions from industrial production
- Emissions from fuel combustion
- Emissions from ferroalloy production
- Emissions from power plant boiler systems

- Concrete and reinforced concrete
- Metal constructions
- Wood constructions
- Toxic substances
- Fertilizers
- Fire protection
- Pesticides

Please note that regional approvals such as GOST-R, GOST-K, or GOST-B are being permanently replaced by the EAC Certification in accordance with the TR CU/EAEU guidelines.
Costs, Duration, and Validity
The costs of GOST certification depend on several factors, such as the regulations of the GOST guidelines, the number of mandatory tests, and the nature of the goods. The processes of GOST certification are carried out in accordance with the requirements and delivery conditions. Obtaining a GOST certificate typically takes about 7 to 9 working days.
The issuance of a GOST certificate occurs either on a contractual basis or for serial production. For contractual deliveries, a one-time GOST certification is conducted.
For serial deliveries, a GOST certification for serial production is carried out. The certification for serial deliveries can be issued for 1 to 3 years.
