ST COA is a product safety certification system implemented by the Suruhanjaya Tenaga Energy Commission in Malaysia. Products within the mandatory scope must apply for a Certificate of Approval (COA) certificate from the Malaysian Ministry of Energy before entering the Malaysian market for sale.

1、 Introduction to ST COA Certification
ST COA is a product safety certification system implemented by the Suruhanjaya Tenaga Energy Commission in Malaysia. Products within the mandatory scope must apply for a Certificate of Approval (COA) certificate from the Malaysian Ministry of Energy before entering the Malaysian market for sale.
2、 Scope of ST COA certified products
ST COA certified products mainly include the following categories:
1. Adapter products
2. AV products, including high fidelity devices, audio and video players, radios, etc
3. Household appliances of all sizes, such as rice cookers, microwaves, toasters, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and electric water heaters
4. Electric fans, electric blowers, irons, etc
5. Lighting products, including LED lamps, desk lamps, Christmas lights, fluorescent lamps, ballasts, etc
6. Component products, including plugs, switches, sockets, wires and cables, ceiling light boxes, and other products
7. Household electric tools
3、 ST COA certification standard
The national standard in Malaysia is the MS (Malaysia Standard) standard, and the MS standard for product safety certification basically adopts the same national IEC standard.
four、 ST COA certification mark
There are mainly two types of labels corresponding to ST COA certification, one is SIRIM label and the other is SIRIM certification mark. Please note that all labels must be affixed to the product itself and not to the packaging. Here is an introduction to these two types of labels:
1. SIRIM label: As shown in the figure below, there are two types:

1) Product Certification Scheme (PCS): As shown in the left figure, it can be directly affixed at the factory, but an application for factory inspection is required.
2) Batch testing scheme (BTS): As shown in the figure on the right, the goods are randomly inspected upon arrival at the port, and an ST COA certificate is issued to purchase the label from SIRIM QAS without the need for factory inspection.
2. SIRIM certification mark: As shown in the figure below, this mark can be added in two situations:
Insufficient product size or other special circumstances make it impossible to attach labels to the product; 2) It belongs to the PCS authentication method.
five、 ST COA certification related information
Certification type: Mandatory
Technical information: 240V, 50HZ
Factory review: Generally speaking, there are no requirements. If applying to affix certification labels in the factory, it is necessary to undergo factory inspection
Holder's requirement: Must be a locally registered importer
Certificate validity period: 1 year
Note: The COA certificate is valid for 1 year, and the applicant needs to complete the COA update 14 days before the certificate expiration date. The label must be purchased from SIRIM based on the actual import or production volume of the product.
