VCCI EMC certification in Japan

As a recognized part of the Japanese market, manufacturers can also comply with the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) requirements of the Information and Communications Council (MIC).

The Japan Interference Voluntary Control Committee (VCCI) for Information Technology Equipment (ITE) is managed by MIC. Under this authorization, VCCI has drafted, published, and approved the Japanese EMC technical standards on limitations and measurement methods for electromagnetic interference caused by information technology equipment based on the recommendations of CISPR.

The mission of VCCI is to support voluntary control of radio interference emitted by ITE and encourage the improvement of ITE's resistance to radio interference to protect the interests of Japanese consumers.

The VCCI logo is a voluntary certification for IT equipment in Japan. The Japan Information Technology Equipment Interference Voluntary Control Committee is the responsible Japanese authority.

The committee was established by a Japanese industry association and initiated by the Japanese government to impose standards on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) among electronic device manufacturers.

Products eligible for VCCI logo application:

audio-visual equipment
Household and similar appliances
lighting products
power tool
Laboratory, testing and measuring equipment
Low voltage electrical equipment
wire and cable
Switches for circuits, installation protection, and connection devices

Although the VCCI logo is not mandatory in Japan, it is a highly acclaimed indicator of high-quality standards.

Products that can achieve the VCCI logo are divided into Class A (all products except household appliances) and Class B (household appliances).

Only VCCI Council members can apply for this certification. We can help you become a VCCI member and start the certification process.

The necessary test reports for VCCI certification can only be conducted in testing laboratories accredited by VCCI. These test reports and the 'Qualification Verification Report' must be uploaded to the VCCI system.

All products that have successfully obtained VCCI certification must bear the VCCI label.
